Found a tranny last week tag reads 1352-034, borg warner tells me it a 1983 SVO 5.0 T5. It does have a V8 out shaft ,but geared like a 84 svo tranny? :help:

unless you have a misprint somewhere there is no such thing as a 1983 svo 5.o. now there is a 83 mustang 5.0. or there is a 83 turbo bird. but no 83 svo.
as i recall the 83-86 turbo birds had a 5 speed that had the same gear set.
also as i recall ford did not use the nwc 5 speed until 84.

bob, thanks for the reply, I've been on many T5 web site's the one's that go back as far as 1352-001 tag numbers they tell that this tag is a 83 SVO 5.0 T5, I know they never made a SVO 5.0, but could it be a early motorsport tranny?

It may be referring to "Ford SVO" Motorsports catalog parts. The pre-WC T5 had been around much longer than the SVO.
IMHO don't use a pre-WC T5 in anything that makes more than stock power levels.
The output shaft size is same for all Ford T5 boxes while hte input shaft pilot bearing size is larger on the v-ate models and would rquire a different pilot bearing to use with the 2.3 engine.
