I have had this car for awile now. It's time to get it fixed and on the road again. I have all kinds of parts that I have collected for it and will start putting them on soon. Pulled the interior today, pulled the dash for a heater core, the engine/transmission is pulled, front nose is off, started on the back. Moser axles were ordered Monday along with a passenger side floor pan, hope to pull the rearend tonight or this weekend and start prepping it for all the additions. Also on tap is to pull the fuel tank and drop in a fuel pump and get it out of the way to fix the frame. The windshield was busted and it was pulled yesterday also.

The car is originally from Texas and had been hit in the passenger door. In checking the body mounting points, they were in the right position, but the torque box on the passenger side is going to take alot of work. The front of the box is a 5/16ths from attaching at the rear foot well. I took some pics of the damage to the transmission tunnel and the inside passenger frame rail. Alot more work than I thought......

I have the engine, tranny, and rear end out of the 85.5 and the engine has 100K plus miles. I have a new head for it and have decided to go ahead, pull it apart to check it out and most likely overhaul it. I don't see any since in risking the new head on a tired engine. I thought I would share my findings as I go through this thing and the build up. Here was the compression when pulled, too long ago.

The head was checked for cracks and straightness and cracks were found. A new head was purchased and it was actually a Christmas present, last year and recently recieved. The new header will be here soon I hope.

The Turbo, a T3/T4 Turbonetics stage III .63/ 50E was sent to Charlie at EverGreen today to be freshened up and massaged. The bearings were showing wear and were loose. The internal wastegate is being exchanged for some Tial V bands.

The breakaway torque for the heads was by the way
        1. 65 lb-ft
        2. 100 lb-ft
        3. 80 lb-ft
        4. 90 lb-ft
        5. 70 lb-ft
        6. 110 lb-ft
        7. 80 lb-ft
        8. 70 lb-ft
        9. 60 lb-ft
        10. 105 lb-ft

The oil pump didnot look too bad with some scoring on the cover and the body.
The breakaway torque on the rods were #50 to 55 lbs. My plastigage appears to be old and I need to get some fresh. The batteries in the calipers are dead too. I'll get some tomorrow and post a few pics after I find the camera too.

The breakaway torque for the mains were all over 100 lbs.
The cross thatching is still visible on the cylinders.
