I had my dog bone cable go, I installed new one, after I installed I took it out for a ride no problem shifting but when I push in the clutch It has a squeak type squeal noise from the pivot arm, is this a bearing or bushing noise I'm hearing ? does it with car not running. How can I get some grease in there.? By the way Ford gets $40.00 for these now.

Every time I replace one it does the squeeking thing for a bit until it wears in. You could always put some grease in the seats where the balls sit. If you gave $40 for the cable, you got your eyes screwed out. Auto Zone has them for $8.99. I just bought four of them about a month agoMinimum standards NEVER guarantee success

Clutch Noise
I read this thread and did the regreasing as described and the noise I had when pushing in or letting out the clutch pedal is now resolved. Turns out it was the inner " Q-Tip" fix as described by Mike. Easy fix BTW took less than 30 minutes to complete.

Noise back w/Vengance
I spoke too soon. The noise is back now, gets substantially louder when the car gets warmed up. BTW, sounds like a "spring" noise, does that make sense? It's definitely coming from inside the bellhousing, not the needle bearings, dogbone or cable.

Try jacking the car up on the left side and putting it on jackstands. This leaves much more room than just trying to squeeze under the car. You should have learned this by now, you chubby cherub!Originally posted by MikeFleming^
The hardest part is getting under the car in a position where you can reach into the side of the bellhousing (with some accuracy).

Jacked Up
Did my wife call you on my weight gain over the holiday?
Did jack the car up when I did the greasing yesterday. So try it again obviously. Any other "spring" related noise it could be (pressure plate/clutch)?

U-shaped cable ends OR Link
U-shaped cable ends, still available; list $5.35 eachOriginally posted by MikeFleming
3. The U-shaped cable ends and pivot pins. Another dab of grease generally helps here too. I don't know if Ford still services these parts - I have part numbers somewhere if you need them.
Part Number D5FZ-2861-AOdd, when I took my avitar picture I owned the black SVO...now I own the blue SVO.
