When I bought my $500 85.5 rolling chassis, I paid extra for the transmission that was supposedly out of it. I have need of a correct transmission for my 86 2A, so I went and got this one. I just noticed it didn't have the correct shift knob. I realize it could have been replaced earlier.
Here is the tag that was attached to the transmission, can someone identify this as the correct WC T5, as was used in the 85.5 & 86 SVO's?
Thanks in advance,
James
PS, for you folks that "want the rest of the story", the gearbox in the 2A car has a stripped hole from when I tried to install the steel bearing retainer. I need to get the 2A car running soon (it's been in my neighbors shop for 15 months). Hopefully the above is the correct , and the 2A box gets sent off to Hanlon for a nice rebuild, and gets back in time to go into the Grey Car, which has a bad second gear synchro in time to make the Reunion, and I can do a little better in the Auto-X.
