  • Need help ID'ing a rear end

    I have a 7.5 with 3.27 gearing & factory disc brakes.

    The tag reads:
    S260A
    3.27 7.5 OD10

    I tried the normal sites & Fordification. There was no info on a tag with that number. I am sure the tag is correct.
    Does anyone else know what this might have come out of?

    S260A=Sterling Plant
    3.27=DUH! Axle ratio
    7.5=DUH! Ring gear size
    0D10=April 10, 2000 Date of Manufacture

    There's a line missing somewhere though....the axle model. Based on the info you have though, It could be out of anything from a v6 Mustang to a Ranger. If it has disk brakes, I'd guess Mustang. Don't think Rangers had rear disks back then and you gotta ask, what rear wheel drive cars did F/L/M have back then that would use the 7.5" peg leg with rear disks.

      yeah yeah, I did note I knew it was a 7.5 with 3.27 gears...

      Continental
      Mark VIII
      Those are the only two I can think of that had 3.27 gears, 7.5 rear, & disc brakes.

      Now get back to work Beavis!

        2000 v6 mustangs had disk brakes on the rear and they were 7.5's.
