  • Shocktower Brace.

Does anyone make a shocktower brace that fits SVO's? Thanks.

Sacramento Mustang, and Global West both make them...I even think they are the same one, but that's another story.

Sacramento-Mustang uses Global West. FWIW, I got mine from them and the box (torn) had no hardware nor instructions. After 1.5 months of them saying they would send the hardware, I never got it! I finally sent it back. That's a WHOLE other story! I bought it in EARLY January and I had to go through Bank One to get them to credit my card back. They still haven't given the credit. My days with those block heads are over. It's not the first time I've had a problem with them.

I'm having one made by a friend of mine. If it turns out nice, which I'm sure it will since he builds NHRA cars for a living, I'll post pics and see if anyone else wants one.

Sounds great, Tony! Keep us posted!

Yeah, I tried to order a downpipe from Sac. Mustang. I had always heard they were backordered, so I called them ahead of time, and asked if it was in stock. Placed the order not more than 5 minutes later, and I was told a week later that it was backordered...Think I was a little upset????

I've tried to sway people away from Sac Mustang for YEARS! They have terrible customer service. Everything they sell can be found from another Vendor ... so, why not use one that gives you good customer service on top of the product you're wanting/needing. Remember, I like the "NO BS!!" style of life.

As for the Strut Tower Brace. If you're keeping the Stock Intercooler in the stock location ... you'll need to think about a 2 point brace. Kenny Brown use to make one that fit our cars with stock ICs (Gary Alsobrooks had one his former 84 2A). If you're changing to a FMIC, I suggest getting a STB first (any FOX platform Brace will fit then) and have the IC tubes custom bent around your brace (if it's even needed).

Ryan Cloud has the same 3 point brace on his 86 2A with his Spearco IC as he did with his stock location TC/IC ... but he had modified the TC/IC by removing the entire flat 1/4" lip from it ... basicly, leaving it looking like a IC Core with end tanks on it when he was finished.

            Bud,

I agree about the customer service, but I don't think you are going to find a 3" downpipe for $120 anywhere else????

uh .. yeah, you can. Search harder. Or you can visit your local exhaust shop and have something custom made .. and still no BS from someone selling you something they don't have in stock.

SVPU and Motion had them. Currently they're out of stock - and both are trying to find another supplier. But, you don't see them trying to sell a product they don't have in stock or readily access to now do you?

Personally, if it was me ... I would be hounding SVPU or Motion about getting them back in stock if I was in need of a 3" DP right now ... and treating Sac Mustang like they have leprosy (as I've always done).

                Bud,

I wasn't disagreeing with you, at all...

No, of course not. But you can't get one from them right now, even if you wanted to...I don't like to hound people because I don't want to seem "unfriendly", however, when someone screws me like Sac. Mustang...EVERY TIME, then that's the last time they will hear from me.

Ummm....yeah. I thought that I had been hounding them, on this board even. Sacramento does have Leprosy, as far as I'm concerned. Never have I ordered anything, and not had some issue, or another with them. I am done with them. I even went as far as to tell them about the "word of mouth" thing, on this board and others, and they didn't seem to give a s**t! So, the hell with them.

I'm just looking for a high quality downpipe, at a decent price...that's all. I am getting very frustrated trying to find one. Local exhaust shops around here never seem to want to do it without charging an arm and a leg, or they don't do anything larger than 2 1/2"....very frustrating...It doesn't even need to be an "exact fit for an SVO...I have an extra turbo elbow with a 3" 90* welded to it...just need the rest of it, from there to the cat...

I guess I got lucky. I've never had any difficulty getting parts from Sacramento Mustang. When I ordered my down pipe, it was on my doorstep within 5 days. Likewise with the Eibach's, dist. cap, pcv and tps. Weird.

(Just visited their site for the first time in a long while. These knuckleheads are charging $750 for a front bumper cover!! Get real, asshats)
