  • search problem

I'm having a problem trying to search on the forum. It always tells me I am using too few searchwords, that the minimum is 4, even when I use 4 or more. Whats up with that?

    Thanks,
    Alan

    Search

    Allan,
I think the problem is to few LETTERS in one of the search words. If you try to search with a word that is <4 letters you will get an error. Just put an * on the end of any word <4 letters long and you should be fine.

I have had the same problem. I know that the "temporary fix" to getting around the problem is by putting a * (wildcard) on the search to meet the requirement. I was wonder if the webmaster could just change the min. search word three instead of four because so many three letter acronyms are used on the boards. I have done a few searchs with the wildcards and they don't come back with the results I was looking for.

Was bored and decided to ressurect old threads but i too think the search thing with a minimum of 4 letters is no bueno. I'd like at least 3. In the past i tried oil, psi, K&N, 2.3, N/A, WOT, Low, gas, and others i've forgotten. I didn't know about the * tho so maybe that'll work .... i guess. Maybe should ad the thing about the * to the search section for newbies.
