  • Hood Insulator Pad

I was browsing through the PPI on-line catalog when something hit me like a 4x4
    A Little Background
Back in 1998 we had just moved in to our brand new rancher I had designed. There was a lot of work to do, so the SVO was parked in an out of the way area of my driveway. Three months later I went to start it and I hear nothing, lights work and I smell something.
One or more squirrels had trashed my under-hood stuff; hood insulator, wiring, cardboard tube thing, etc. They were not picky at all. And when I went to start I must have "melted" other things, including refill spout for power steering. Insurance (home owners and/or car) paid for everything.
The only sticking point was how to deal with the hood insulator pad, which was SVO obsolete by then. The certified Ford repair facility suggested I look at a 1987-ish pad, with slight cut-out for the intercooler. This seemed reasonable, considering I wasn't into the perfect, as delivered look at the time.
    So Consider This
Here are PPI picture and my under-hood picture. As you can see it's not bad looking at all.
    Just trying to help.

Note to BOD: You may want to move this to Engine or Body Section so many others can see. Your call.
