  • Rattling Sound

Hi, this isnt exactly a muffler question, but it does have to deal with a part that is connected to my muffler

When leaving a restaurant one day, I went very slow over this sloop. It wasnt slow enough I guess, becuase on the way down, My CAT Grill got smashed in a bit. The little screen thats over the CAT smashed in a bit, and now when my car idles, it rattles every other second or so. It's really annoying, and I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and what I could do about it.

    Thanks, Ryan

    Repair?

This can be repaired by driving twice as fast over the sloop to straighten it back out.......

I thought you'd like that!! Your local muffler shop is you're best bet for probably $ 20 bucks......

          THANKS!

          ok, thanks a lot.

Yeah, cuase it just happened, and now I'm selling it, and I didnt mention that it rattles ever so quitly, but it's still there. So I should get that fixed now! It's a bit "discouraging" for someone to buy a car that rattles I suppose

Kiwi, be more specific. You forgot to mention that in order to fully undo the damage, the "driving twice as fast over the sloop" needs to be done in REVERSE GEAR !

              HEY!!!!

You know what was pretty funny? Ok, let me tell you then..

Well, I took off my CAT screen, and guess what was making all that noise! A piece of metal that had my "CAT PART NUMBER" on it came loose from its clue, and was just vibrating against the screen. So, I didnt have to pay anything!
              And, no rattaling now! COOL!!!!
