Some info if you were wondering about it. I originally bought the car as a daily driver during my first 2 years in college. I did a few things here and there, and didn't intend to do a whole lot to it, but you all know how that goes. My original turbo came apart, and that's when the madness started. It started going to the drag racing side of things because my Cobra II has a LOT of work to be done before it sees the street again. My goal is to get it into the high 9's with a manual transmission, and then change it over to a road course car when the Cobra II is done. It still has a ways to go, but things are finally starting to look good (knock on wood, haven't had any major problems for a few months). So far my best dyno run is 351 hp/347 torque (I had to LOL at those numbers), best 1/4 mile time 11.59 @ 114 mph, 1/8 mile time 7.31 @ 92 mph, best 1/8 mph is 93.58, and best 60' 1.6. I haven't been to the track as much as I'd like since some of the problems have been fixed, but I think I could hit 7.10's with the current setup. The 1.58 improvement in MPH is from leaning it out a lot from what I was running at the Reunion, although it is still on the rich side at 10.8. Current race weight with about 1/2 tank of gas is a few pounds over 2900. I will be taking another 200 lbs out of it, but some of that will be offset with a chromoly 8 point cage. Here are the mods:

    Engine:

    Megasquirt II V3
    85 lb. Delphi injectors
Custom FMIC (can't remember the dimensions, 2.5" tubing)
Garrett GT3076R turbo, 28 lbs. boost
    Esslinger Star cam gear
    Bob's Big Log header
    Stinger 3" downpipe
3" exhaust to one Magnaflow muffler
    Gillis manual boost controller
    Unknown brand cone air filter
    Accufab fuel pressure regulator
    255 lph Walbro fuel pump
    Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump
    Tial Blow off valve
    60 mm throttle body
Fabbed plenum intake, based off an early inline lower intake
    Ported big valve head
    Engle roller cam
    Stock bottom end

    Driveline/suspension:

G-Force T5, Tampa Clutch Supply full metallic clutch
The Driveshaft Shop 900 hp aluminum driveshaft
8.8 rear end, standard Fox width, welded tubes, Moser 28 spline axles, FMPP 4.10 gears, carbon fiber Trac-Lock clutches, billet 1350 pinion yoke, FMPP girdle
Eibach Drag Launch springs in the rear with an airbag
    Baseline upper control arms
Maximum Motorsports lower control arms with adjustable spring perches
Stock front suspension, but sway bar is removed when I go to the track
    Earl's braided brake lines
15x3.5" Greg Weld Draglites in the front
15x8" Greg Weld Draglites in the rear
    275/50R15 Mickey Thompson drag radials
Maximum Motorsports full length subframe connectors
    Maximum Motorsports K-member brace

This winter I will be taking some weight off with chromoly tube bumper supports, manual steering, and Kirkey seats. I'm also in the process of building a 2.5 short block, hopefully it will be done this winter. I will also get a bigger intercooler, set up an Evac system, and repowdercoating some underhood parts.

After those things are taken care of, I'm going to focus on getting it up to safety specs (SFI flywheel, blowproof bellhousing, roll cage). I'm not going to get ahead of myself with other future mods just yet.

Here are some pics. I don't have any recent engine or interior pics. I'll get on that this weekend maybe.

When I upgrade to MS2 Extra I'm going to look into an electronic boost control solenoid. Yeah, the Gillis isn't very precise.

Very nice set-up!! I'm shocked to see you making a launch at the dragstrip with NO helmet.. Was that just for the pictures?? IIRC you need to wear a helmet if you run faster than 13.99..

Keep up the good work & good luck with your goals??

Did you remove the front sway-bar at the track?? Made a better 60' time by a tenth..

Yeah, the sway bar is removed. I think the 1/8 mile tracks near me require a helmet if you run faster than a 7.50. The track that those pictures were taken at doesn't do much enforcing of safety regulations. I'm wearing a helmet now, though.
