  • Global West SFC

As part of my prep to put the SVO on the track, and after reading may great posts on the site, I came up with the sequence (as many others did) stiffen, safety, brakes, mods....

I purchased this car off evilBay about 3 years ago and have been doing various fixes/upgrades and it has made the 1300 mile trek to both the 2008 and 2009 reunions, autocross (mid pack) and back.

After looking searching I decided to go with GW for SFC based on how they tuck up, and seem to design for chasis torque resistance, especially with the rocker ladder. I did find the instructions a bit lacking (hence this post) and the brake and tank vent lines definetely need to be re routed. I will post some better pic of this in the future.

The right side took a good shot at one time in it's life and had to put it on a frame machine to pull the rocker and floor down about 3/4 of an inch. Here again the outer rocker tube welded in make sit "better then new"

I have no seat time yet, but I would bet the chasis is substantially stiffer and safer

More pics from Global West SFC install

A few pics of the rocker welding before and after seam seal. I will wait until this cures, then sand and spray with flat black. Amazingly the SFC are about 1/2 inch above the exhaust, and this exhaust is tucked up as high (higher then stock) that you can, IE NO LOSS in road clearance (others I am sure can attest to this)
