Hey for the 86 what is the lowest "dumb" light supposed to be Check oil or Overboost??? I though tonly the 84's had the overboost and the 85's and 86's had the low oil light. Thanks

    venomizd93,

My 86 says "overboost ego", however, it will come on once the oil is about a quart low....I think it functions as a "dual purpose" idiot light.

Either/Or. I can't remember where they switched exactly, but at some point ... they were installing the OIL window with it still connected to the Overboost warning signal. And, we've had some people asking, "how come my EGO/Ovboost light stays on continously when I'm a quart low on oil?? "

Btw, both of my early 85s have the EGO/OvBoost.

thanks guys...thought I may have been "jacked" on ebay by someone who sent me an 86 that had the "overboost" logo on it. It seems that mine's legit. The one I just got is awesome but the "coating", I'll call it, feels a little sticky. It defitely is original...just wondering if that's age....any input????

          Coating?

Are you referring to the grey "suede"-like material on the cover? If so, yeah, mine is sort of like that, as well...don't know what causes this, but I am looking into alternatives to refinish this panel...not an easy thing to match!

yeah that's exactly the coating I'm talking about.....it's almost like sticky powder on it, touch it the wrong way and it comes right off!!!! I haven't touched it the wrong way yet and don't plan too!!!
