    radio removal

    First remove the console....

Look up under the overhang over top of radio there will be two screws..loosen them and through much twisting and turning the radio will remove from under/behind dash.

Could someone please post detail instructions on how to remove the stock radio. It defies all logical methods of removal. The shop manuals state the lower heater ducts need to be removed first which also seems impossible without dismantling most of the interior.

      Thanks,

If you are trying to get the radio out of an 84, it helps to loosen the dash from the firewall and pull it away slightly while sliding the radio out the bottom. Yes it is possible to get it out without doing this, but it isn't easy!

As far as the heater ducts are concerned, they generally don't budge. Like the heater core, the car was built around them. It is easier to loosen the dash and pull it slightly forward .
