Finally got the 86 hauled back home from SVOErics house. THANKS AGAIN ERIC!!
this was one of the first broke down of reunion 2009. it has been sitting there since then. Aux shaft and dizzy stripped gears. I plan to pull the motor and get the Aux shaft berrings replaced because the is the second time this has happened in 255 miles. and last time i replaced the oil pump. first pict is starting up the trailer. The second is the hole it left behind. the third is load complete. the forth is farwell to the yard buddy.

Well I got to work on changing the Aux shaft tonight it was a piece of cake like 45 min to get it in. then came the dissy it went right in almost all of the way about 3/16" from all the way. Hmm. I thought why not bump the starter while pushing in the dissy that should do it.. so I got the remote start switch and bumpped the switch and it did not click in but jumped out at me. and wipped out a new aux shaft and dizzy.
So I closed the hood and kicked myself all the way into the house.

I guess next time I will slip in the dizzy while the AUX shaft is out there has to be somthing major wrong that I'm just not seeing.

Let me know when it finishes it's punishment, and I'll come over and try to help.. (hopefully not help break another shaft)

The way I've done mine in the past is to drop them in, and go ahead and take the timing belt off. spin the aux gear a few times, and make sure it's smooth.

Back several years ago, I had a dizzy I could not get in for anything. My Dad comes over, picks up the oil can, lubes the O-ring, and the mating surface of the block, and it dropped right in. It's amazing how much grip that o-ring can have when dry.

Well upon further inspection... the oil pump is locked up tight slipped a deep socket and could not get it to move. I looked real close between the hex shaft and the dissy shaft guide surface and there is nothing wedged in there. I can get the shaft to slipp up and down in the oil pump.
Looks like Eric gets to come over and pull a motor with me. I guess we are going to have to have a fix KY SVO's weekend soon
