  • Aftermarket Shift knobs

I just put my new Kirban in and need to get a shifter knob or handle for it. I'd like to get something other than a round ball for it. Does anyone know where to find something like the original or something like a pistol grip?
    Thanks! Christina

I think that the Ford Motorsports "SVO look alike" fits on it with the correct threads and everything. Somebody who has one please verify this for us..

      Christina,

I use the cobra leather "shorty" knob. You have to force it on there, but since it has plastic threads, it re-threads itself. It holds great, and I have not had a problem, and love this knob. It is not nearly as tall as the original SVO one...and to me...that's a good thing!

        Motorsport shift knob

The Ford Motorsport M-7213-A shift knob will fit the kirban shifter. There seems to be a back log in the production of the knob at this time, but Sacramento Mustang has them in stock. This knob is similar in looks to the SVO knob.

            shift knob

I'm using a leather SHO knob on my newly installed Kirban shifter.
Found this piece at the junkyard, cost was maybe a coulpe of bucks for me. The knob is the shorty type, feels pretty darn nice.

I split these posts out from the product review section --

lets try to keep questions out of that area ---

BTW :: I also have a SHO knob on my kirban shifter - works well, but if you screw it down too far, it gets short in a hurry.

                          Shifter knob

Does anyone know if the Ford Motorsport leather knob will fit on the Hurst Comp shifter. I would like to keep stock looking knob instead of the standard Hurst eight ball looking knob. I know you can use the FMS knob on the Billit shifter, but I don't know about the Comp Plus that looks like the stock SVO shifter, but has adjustable stops.

                            well yes and no ---

the hurst shifter has different threads on it, but the shift knob has plastic threads on it.. it will screw on, and re-thread as it goes...
