  • Ehaust tips

I'm redoing my 86 ehaust. The shop I deal with is going to use 2.5" tail pipes and exlerator mufflers( I can see through from end to end) My question is what kind of exhuat tip came stock-straight,turn down-chrome? Any help would be great! Also has anybody run these mufflers?
I would like to go to a 3" DP but the only one I can get currently is Strick9 and I don't care for all the welds.

    Thanks Bruce

stock was the same application as a 86 GT and 87-93 LX 5.0.. straight and stainless (not chromed).

MAC Exhaust makes LX tail pipes. I have a set of "chrome" tails on my car in 2 1/2" dia. They also make them in a "coated" HTS finish .. I'm unsure if they have them in the stainless stock look.

Either way .. check out MAC's site http://www.macperformance.com/ - or find a local Mustang performance shop. They should be able to sell you just the tails if that's what you want vs. an entire cat-back set up.

Flowmaster offers 2.5 tails with the proper stainless tip. Cost is around $160.

Thanks for the heads up on the flowmaster duals! I bought a set and got them on today! They sound good and make more power so I am happy!
