  • Global West Subframes

Got the Global West Subframes (Part# 921) installed and what a difference! The car feels a lot more solid. I would recommend this part. The installer even stated that he had not seen such a "beefy" set. Another said that it was almost like having a tubular frame installed.

I have a set on my 85 9L .. and can only second your opinion on them. Well worth the money!

I bought the Global subframes based on this thread and can only agree with the both of you on how these look and feel on and off the car. My 84 has some floorpan cracking and I could feel quite a difference in stiffness and even in handling with the recent rain here in NY. Only thing I need now is a strut brace.

Worth every penny - not only that, they are cheaper than most of the competitors anyway.

My '86 Comp Prep has them on it. They look like quality pieces. The car feels very solid, as they were put on on the car by Ken Schultz I can't tell you how it felt prior to the installation, and this is the only SVO I've ever driven or rode in.

I have a set on my 1E, I can tell you they made a heck of a difference.

the car felt like it had a joint in the middle before.

How much are they? Are they bolted in or welded?

Check out their website ( http:www.globalwest.net ) for price and parts. I went with the full ladder matrix set. As with all good subframes, they need to be welded on. Subframes help very little when they are only bolted on.

I'm about ready to get some new springs and subframes and was wondering if there was any clearance or accessability issues with the ladder bar style subframes.
I'm running a 3" MAC pipe out the passenger side and I'm really happy with it's fit and didn't wanna move it.
                  TIA,
                  Ben

You will have an issue, especially if it's lowered with a 3" pipe. I ended up running mine 3" over the rear axel.
Hoping to get on the track soon

I'm sorry, my description wasn't very clear. I Have a 3" Sac mustang downpipe tucked up tice and tight with a 3" MAC cat back exiting over the rear axle on the passenger side.
