  • Where's the resistor ?

I've removed the tank, removed the pump, and the pump I recieved from Muscle Performance doesn't look like it will fit anyhow anyway ont the stock bracket! I'll call the mtomarow, but can anyone tell me if I have to use a later bracket?
And I am trying to find the resistor... I have undid the plastic wire cover, but don't see anything but wires. I've looked all the way up the wires to the main bundle in the rear of the hatch. It's supposed to be on the ground wire. Anybody know?
    Thanks.

Dave follow the ground wire and it should turn into a resistance wire. There is no resistor per se but a resistance wire.

The easiest thing to do is clip the ground wire close to where it comes through the trunk floor and solder you a piece of wire to it and carry that to a GOOD clean ground and you will not have any trouble out of it.

The resistance wire was there for the helper pump in the tank and if you just hook the 225 to it, it will get hot enough on the resistance part to cook the insulation off of it.

Also I think that you might have to use the bracket for an in tank fuel pump. I do not think the 225 will mount on the helper pump bracket.

Thanks, Ty... I've come to that same conclusion

I'm trying to find a pump baracket from a 87-93 5.0, and I've found out that the wire itself is a resistor.
It's been one stumbler after another trying to get this thing back together. I did just recieve me carpet today. And it's the right color gray! YEEHAAA!
