    whats the deal
i was doing some body work on the new 84. if you look at the picture the yellow lines is the outer edge of where it all starts
little "cracks" at first i think its just paint. wrong with a bit of sanding i was getting nowhere. so i take out the dremeland go to work. i take off 1/4 inch of what looks like bondo. under all this (black line) is a weld line. can some one tell me why i would have bondo? and exsplain the weld line.

not my car in pic. will get pic of car soon

Apparently someone put a quarter panel on your car in the past....the factory assembly point is much higher up toward the roof. There should be no welding point where you have marked. I would suggest removing the interior panel and having a look from the inside....that will tell you more since you can see from the inside.

yeah - Paul's right - sounds like you have a replacement panel in the car. The factory (that's known for bubbling paint) if almost even with the top edge of the Sail Panel. With your weld being that low - it probably is a replacement qtr panel.

don't fret about having bondo in the car... pretty much all cars come with bondo from the factory!!

BTW: I hope you didn't use bondo brand filler, it's not too good...

Most people use the name bondo as a generic term for body filler.
