  • What's some of the project's to get done on your car before the reunion?

Thought it would be fun to check out what everyones scrambling around doing.

I've got (as of blowing my tranny 2 days ago) to:

    1) go pick up (200 mile round trip) and install a tranny. I'll put new seals in it and a shifter and short throw arm, I'll go ahead and slap in a new clutch and rear main seal.

    2) Install a Ranger Radiator and Front Mount my IC.

    3) Install the larger Fuel Pump.

    4) Mirror polish those wheels. Bought Tripoli Compound, etc.

    5) Change the fluid in the rear.

    6) Replace my Mastercylinder.

    7) Musn't forget install the new Inner Lights from SVPU.

    & I'm working 7 days a week, 12-15 hour shifts until Aug 29 - HA!

    who else gonna be busy?

Well, since it's Friday, and I have the day off, and I can't go to the reunion, I think I'll open a Guinness.

I have the exhaust manmifold, turbo & exhaust pipes off my car right now. My goal is to get it back together with no leaks. I also want to get the bypass valve on, and maybe a new set of tires.
I would also like to get my wheels repaired & refinished, but it probably won't happen.
Other than that, my car is undergoing constant improvements. Never know what I'll do to it next.
Oh yea, I'd also love to get the A/C working.
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

              Wash and wax...

I'm taking the 2R again this time. All it needs is a wash / wax / clean up. What is going to take the most time is collecting all the parts, literature, and various memorabilia that I want to bring.

Actually, I am excited because it should be a very calm period before the reunion as opposed to last year. In the 3 weeks before the reunion last year I took my 85 1C from being a glorified parts car (no motor, trans, interior, or front clip) to a running, driving (albeit ugly) car that drove to Alabama and back on its own.

This year will be much more relaxing as I will rinse off the Hertz car and simply head on down. I plan on addressing its couple of minor issues over the next month or so but it will be a comparative walk in the park.

Well let me start with my car has not ran in about 12-13 years.
1.Put in engine(I was going to try to get the original engine done in time but since my ported head was cracked I decided to wait until I could afford an Essy head so I bought a used Tbird engine to go in for now)
2.Reinstall fuel tank that has been out for 6 years and put in new pump.
3.Fix everything that has deterioratd during its coma that is needed for drivabilty.
4.It needs paint and bodywork but thas going to have to wait.
Wish me luck I hope I can figure out where all those bolts I got in a box go.

To Do List....I hate to do lists

Replaced the racer's oil return line a couple of weeks ago so we will actually get to race this time instead of dumping oil on the track and looking like a mosquito fogger.

1.) Gotta find why the racer is studdering at high RPM. (any help here would be appreciated)

2.) Get the buffer out and put a little shine on the racer's paint.

                      3.) Install more stickers.

4.) Clean under the hood and undercarraige of the 85.5 T-Top.

5.) Install 3 inch down pipe and flowmasters on 85.5 T-Top.

6.) Tell the 26 miler he can't go........

                              Too much to list.
James I may need your help come Oct,
Should have it painted by the time you get to come down for the tranny.
Might get brave and put the new head on, been waiting a year to do that.
Time to clean up the engine bay!
