  • bushings for front swaybar

    Howdi folks,

Noticed the front sway bar bushings (all of them) are falling apart. Is this a Ford purchase, Energy Suspension, or SVOPaul?

If I should go energy suspension could someone tell me the diameter of the swaybar?

    thanky!

I would go for the energy suspension's from Paul...

I have 2 sets of sway bar bushnigs sitting in my garage that I ordered from other places that were wrong...

Call Paul, and he will sell you the right ones the first time!!!

I was just at Paul's yesterday as he was unpacking ES Poly Sway Bar parts that had just been delivered. Very nice....very very nice.

I think it is a odd size like about .200 of a inch.

Just an added note about the swaybar. I just ordered the mounting brackets and an endlink kit from Ford today. So part of our car is still available.

              End Link Kit: E6ZZ-5A486-A

                Stock Swaybar Diameter

                Shadow27,

I believe the stock front swaybar is 1.12" or 1 1/8" or 28mm diameter.

                and

I believe the stock rear swaybar is 0.67" or ~11/16" or 17mm diameter.

and the rear swaybar is 0.75" or 3/4" diameter.

Well thank you sir! I can't believe that with all the searching that I did, I could not find any info on this!

I believe that the swaybar will be measured in millimeters, I have measured mine before, with my dial calipers, but I can't remember the exact dim. I am fairly sure that it wasn't a standard size though. I will measure again tomorrow, and post here.

Well, I measured my Swaybar today and it is 1 3/16, whether that applies to anyone else or not I don't know, since the FAQ lists 1 1/8.
I also found that I have a broken Swaybar Mount,at the subframe, oh well

Bud I wasn't posting over you, just around the same time I guess.

                          1 3/16 - 1 1/8 = 1/16.

                          1/16 / 2 = 1/32.

It must have a 1/32' coat of paint on it.

                          LOL

Nope, just shiney steel where the bushing has been rubbing.

That's true, I had found that info already, but it is listed as 1.12" and no one sells swaybars or bushings using this measurement, and since I am mathematically challenged, I didn't know what this would be in standard measurements.
