What is the best way to install SVPU wing supports?

Is it best to attach the flat bases to the back glass and let the rubber tips support the wing in the two center screw holes (without removing the screws)?

yup .. that's it.

Before you attach them with the d/s tape, install them and get the proper adjustment. You don't want the wing to be pushed upwards .. just enough to hold it flat/level. Find where they will set straight up/down and put the tape on the glass. Press the support's base against the tape and swing the support rod up and til the rubber tip rests inside the receased screw holes of the upper wing .. and do not remove the screws in there .. the tips just rest inside the slots.
