  • OK... Bob Tweedy... See this!!!

    Bob,
There has been discussion regarding your recovered leather items... Steering wheel, horn pad, shifter knob & boot... (and ebrake handle?
I too saw your items, and they are on my Christmas wish list.
Can you make an offer to SVOCA members? (I'll be sure to show my wife where to find it)
Also, I noticed you have nothing listed on Ebay right now... Can we contact you anytime for these items? Do you work on an exchange basis?
How about listing some items & prices here so we can cut out evilbays share?
Please let us know how we can contact you about these pieces.
    Thanks
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

      leather goods etc

hi dave. good to talk to you again. thanks for your and the svoca interest.
i have read all the threads that have suddenly thrust me into the limelight.
let me clarify some things first:
      1. i am retired military. hence the email name of "firsthero" as i was a squadron 1st sergeant.
      2. i am also retired from the u.s.postal service.
      3. therefore i probably am older than most any 2 of you'al.
      4. i do not do the reman thing to put "grits" on the table but do make enough to subsidize my hobby/passion.
      5. upon carefully massaging my abacus i think that i can do the following for your members:
steering wheels normally $235.00 your cost $ SVO MEMBERS ONLY
horn pads normally 125.00 your cost $ SVO MEMBERS ONLY
shift knobs normally $125.00 your cost $ SVO MEMBERS ONLY

things to remember: i must return cores to the people who do the actual remanufacture. so the buyer must pay shipping to me of the cores and the cost of shipping to the buyer. i weigh each box i send and the buyer pays the exact cost.
if no cores are available then the following core charges will be added to the cost: steering wheel $40.00. horn pad $22.00. shift knob $22.00. ALSO the horn ring/plastic plate normally attached to the steering wheel must be sent with the wheel core. ALSO as the shift knobs are thread specific to the svo with the original shifter the core MUST be an original svo HURST knob.
i do check each of the cores prior to shipment to the reman people.
and i do check each piece as i unpack each shipment i recieve assuring that each is the best possible that i can provide.
i do not get a large supply of these at one time therefore i may not have what you want "on the shelf". however it takes me about 1 week to 10 days to get what i want.
we are attempting to get a correct shift boot made. the problem is not the boot per se but the rubber/spacer at the top of the boot.
we have not had any requests for the ebrake handle. if there is enough interest we can try it out.

there may be something that i forgot. my attention span gets shorter each day seems like.

feel free to email me at any time at my normal email address. i am here unless i am gone.

i guess that that i should have some way to ascertain who is a member and who is not.

see there were things i forgot

      bob

I have a good core in my parts stash. If anybody wants it I'll let it go for the standard core charge plus shipping.
