    Hello folks,

Bob Tweedy and I both noticed a few outrageous prices supposedly paid for some "NOS obsolete" items on Evilbay over the weekend. I understand that to some concourse guys the parts may be worth the prices if they are truly NOS. For the rest of us, a replacement turbo exhaust gasket set available for <$10 locally is hardly worth the >$32 paid. A decklid emblem still available from Ford for <$16 is hardly a deal at $41 plus $10 shipping.

I'm just checking to see if there's enough interest to start a permanent thread regarding currently available parts and acceptable alternative replacements. Lounge items drop off the radar after a certain amount of time. Should separate items just go in the appropriate tech area (like interior, engine, etc.) or can we justify another tech thread on suitable replacement parts, prices and sources?

It would be nice to have a list of parts with colums showing Ford price/obsolete, generic price used price and outragous price. It would give us all a better idea at shopping for parts. Maybe even control prices a bit. It might even be a good place to list the part number as well.

I don't know what it takes to run one of these web forums but hopefully it came be done simply and not take up too much time. Maybe use a template form to input the data by the forum posters.
