  • Oxygen Sensor Replacement

I stumbled on a Mustang Chat site late last night and found this statement
"Remember to change O2 every 60K and reprogram the computer for the new O2 sensor by putting it in relearn."
What the heck does that mean?
How do I "relearn" and what computer is he talikng about?
Also, I picked up a new fuel pressure regulator at Advanced Auto, GP Sorenson part number 800-127. It is slightly smaller than the one on there. Any opinions on this vs the Ford part?

Just disconnect the battery cable for about 10 minutes. You should do this after tune ups as well. Also anytime the car doesn't seem to be running right.

yea -- If I were you, I would consider paying a little extra, and getting a name brand, adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

        Eric,
Why an adjustable regulator? What do I do with it? Adjust it to what?
Help me with this off the wall stuff!

cause you can bump ther pressure you give yourself more fuel to the engine -- handy after a few mods -- and theres not much difference in price..

Don't worry about that until you start turning up the wick on aftermarket parts.

It's no big deal until you start changing cams, install bigger injectors, and cranking up the boost.

If you're happy with your car in stock trim, there is plenty of safety margin when the ECU goes in to "SAVE ME FROM THOSE IDIOT TUNERS" mode, above 3060 RPM.
