  • removing fuel injectors?

    Whats the easiest way to take out the fuel injectors with out damaging them? Thanks.

        FWIW, I have always just taken the whole fuel rail loose and then just "wiggled" the whole assembly out very slowly and carefully. Put a little oil on the o-rings when you put them back in, works for me...

            Just like Rich and Eric mentioned works like a charm, you have to remove the upper though.
            Just another '84 9W.

              well -- you can do it without removing the upper -- but it is pretty tight. -- probably easier to remove it.

                After you do it a dew times, you don't have to remove the upper...

                  you could probably also change plugs without removing the intercooler, but that doesn't make it easier. If you are removing injectors for the first time, its sound advice to remove the upper.

                    Yes, of course it is...I wasn't disputing that at all. Just something I didn't think about, because I don't do it, that's all. Sorry about that...

                      I am planning on removing the upper and lower intake so that wont be a problem i just want to make sure i'll get the injectors out withotu a problem. thanks for the help!

                        I was gonna say you may want to make sure the lower intake is pretty clean before you take them out to avoid crap falling in the hole (see second pic of my dirty intake around injectors in Fan Kick-On Sensor threads). But if your taking em out with the intake maybe leave them in until after you remove the lower intake.
