  • springs for an s.v.o???

Does anyone know if springs for a regular Mustang will fit an svo? Ipurchased a set of Motorsport springs for my Turbogt but have since decided to put a k-member w/ coilovers on that car and would like to put the fms on my svo if possible. Late model restoration list the svo and v6 mustangs from 79-93 together so I am assuming that all springs will fit but will have different ride heights.
Duhhh!!!! Why dont ya put a 5.0 in that car George???

Pegasus, You are correct all Fox style Mustangs use the same "type/size" of springs, just different lengths and rates. This is what will determine what your ride height will be. If you put V8 springs in your SVO your nose will ride higher than when they were in the V8 car. This is because the main difference in weight between a 4cyl & V8 car is all over the nose, the rear of the car is virtually the same from a sprung weight standpoint.

actually, if you hit the FAQ section, and read the suspension FAQ, there is some spring info in there.

            motorsport springs

Yes, the motorsport springs made for a fox body will work on your SVO.

I run the c-spring, it is a specific rate front and tends to ride STIFF for street use.

If I was doing it again for street use i'd run the B-spring, its a progressive rate spring and would take to the street with a more factory feel.

              Thanks guys!!!

Just wanted confirmation before starting the swap, hate getting in the middle of something and finding what u have is not what u need.

Gary, I have the progreesive spring but I assume the height is the same as yours. Could u tell me how much gap u have between the top of the front tire and the fender lip? I am wondering if I should cut them down a little to get a lower stance in the front since they are v8 springs.

              Has anyone else cut theres?
