I have a question about intakes. I have read that a lot of people have gutted their upper intake for added performance. My question is how does this method compare to Extrude Hone? Has anyone ever compared the 2? It seems to me that gutting your intake would certainly increase your airflow capability (good) but, it would also seem to decrease velocity (bad).
Duhhh!!!! Why dont ya put a 5.0 in that car George???
don't think the extrude hone would even compare to the amount of increased CFM the guys are getting from a total intake gut....plus, the cost of the EH and still getting less benefit for more money doesn't make much logical sense.
As for decreased velocity - it's not a factor on a forced induction motor. N/A motors need the 'natural' velocity...turbo/supercharged cars make up for it by increasing boost pressures....
Great thanks Bud. Now if I could only find the picture I have of a gutted version I could get busy on my spare intake... Boy that tig welder Ive been Wanting sure would come in handy about now....
