Leaky exhaust manifold

Will this problem cause my turbo to spool up much later than it's suposed to?

This was one of my problems with the ATR the manifold cracked and I was doinking with the actuator trying to tighten it so it would spool faster . Yanked the manifold and poof instant turbo response.

Thanks,at what RPM should a stock "84 start to build boost?

I was going to say 2500 as well for the 84. I usually launched at 3000 when racing to keep the boost up. That worked until the oil soaked clutch started slipping. So much for that warranty repair by Ford.
