I just got a TC IC and it is a little longer than the hood pad. do I have to get a new one? or will I be fine with it smaller? or just not use a hood pad?

I think the more air you get into the intercooler, the better it will perform.
BUT -- I wouldn't go cutting on a svo hood pad, good ones are too hard to find. Also be very careful if you decide to remove the hood pad -- sometimes they like to fall apart once you start working with them. (found out the hard way)Eric C
