I installed an 4 point rollbar from Autopower in my SVO this weekend. It's the bolt in "Racebar" with the removal shoulder harness and diagonal brace bars that I ordered from Ioport Racing. The install took a weekend to complete - but only because I also wanted to replace the weatherstripping and use interior panels from a 87 hatchback instead of butching up the original SVO panels.
It took about 4 weeks to get it shipped via truck freight, and it arrived carefully wrapped in thick plastic. All the hardware is included, but the instructions were pretty pathetic - just two small scraps of paper. I did some web searching to get an idea of installation before beginning. The instructions at Maximum Motorsport's website for installing their rollbar were very helpful!
The bar went in without too much trouble - just be sure that you remove the front and rear seats as well as the rear interior panels before you begin. All the holes in the bar lined up well, and the welds and template-cut backing plates were perfect. My bar came painted in gloss black, but it scratches and chips easily I painted my bar with Rustoleum Hammerite black before installing.
If you plan on racing your SVO in SCCA Solo I/II You will need to drill a 3/16" inspection hole somewhere inconspicuous for tech inspection.
With the removable crossbraces, the rear seat is still usable. The bar touches the headliner, and there's plenty of headroom and room to recline the front seats.
Verdict: RECOMMENDED.
