    Howdy again,

I've got some time off from school and have a couple projects for the SVO that have waited too long (A whole lot of rattles need to be hunted down and killed!!!!!!).

My turn signals barely work at idle. If I am at a trafic light (at idle), and turn on the blinkers the indicator on the dash will come on, but not blink (off-on-off, etc), until either a full minute or so has gone by or I bring the rpm's up over 2k and hold it there for a bit.

I think I remember reading about this being an alternator problem but couldn't find it again.

    TIA,
    Russ

    On the right track......

......something like that is usually power related.....Takes juice to operate the circuit well (bulbs, blinker, etc)......Try the power tester at AutoZone & check the Alt while running & A/C on high (big stereo on?)/ then Batt with car off.......

he's right --- they can test your charging system --

your alternator may not be putting out enough ? --
If you decide to buy a alternator, go for the lifetime warranty one-- the others are prone to problems.

As kiwi said -- do you have a big stero, or under-drive pulleys ?

Check the 12v regulator output....if it was a stereo thing youd get "disco" lights...that cool up and down dimming of all the lights(i.e. parking, headlight, tailights, dash board). Providing entertainmnt for the rest of the world.

FWIW, the other thing that I have found is that if you are using a regular Mustang blinker relay, (not the "heavy duty" or "loud" type), you will have problems. At least, I always do. If you have recently replaced it, or need to replace it, make sure it is the heavier duty one.

That's funny rich -- cause If I get blinker that isn't the heavy duty one, mine blinks like mad (about 3 tmies per second)
