  • Koni Yellow question...

I have read somewhere that the Koni Yellow's for the rear are adjustable from inside the car (i.e. you dont have to disconnect the lower part of the shock and jack up the axle and the spring, bla, bla, bla).

Is that true? If so I'm going to get a set for my daily driver, UNLESS you guys tell me that the ride is way to stiff.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Hoping to get on the track soon

I have yellow konis on my Cobra. They do adjust from the top. Thus making them a breeze to fine tune. Since I never ran the Reds on this car - can't really compare the differences. I know you were asking about the rears...but just in case, I don't think the yellow fronts are a true 'bolt on' if you're still using the factory control arms.

I do remember saying to myself when I first installed the yellows though..."why did I wait so long to buy these?"

springs usually dictate the 'stiffness' of the ride....while the shock/strut determine the rebound.

Not Koni's, but Tokico's adjust from the top in both front and rears. They are offered for the fox platform.

I'm pretty sure Koni yellows are not available as a stock item for the rears. I was hoping someone could tell me otherwise because I just bought unused yellow rears for an SVO from someone and I'm afraid he didn't realize they are for a 5.0.

However, Koni can revalve your reds to yellow specs. This is, I'm prety sure again, the way the only way to get the externally adjustable option added.

          Koni Yellows

Being no expert, I'll make this statement. According to what Ive seen on Koni's site the SVO and 79-93 mustangs all use the same koni red. I suspect the yellow they list for the gt's should fit fine as well then..

There's no difference in REAR shocks applications. The 79-93 Koni yellows will fit a SVO.

Clarity? Heck, that wasn't nothing but a bunch of engineering fancy words. Confused the crap out of me. How bout breaking down with words/sayings like 'fuzzy math'? I always liked that one. hehhehehe

Sorry Shawn - but you usually have to take in account that normal people don't have engineering degrees like yourself.

I do know an Engineer joke though....

              Q. How can you tell if an Engineer is an extrovert?

              A. He looks at your shoes when he talks to you.

WTF? How come it sounds like you're coming across with an attitude here Shawn? Maybe you should back up and regroup your reply. ....IOW, check the ego at the door, stop puffing up your roster feathers, and consider other people might not be as educated in the same areas as you.

Or, you can continue to be a smartass (for no apparent reason) and see where that gets you....
