hey guys I'm having high idle/crappy performance on my 86 svo. I'm hearing alot about setting timing and cleaning IAC. Only prob is I don't know where it is or what it looks like. Computer threw up tps code so I'm gonna replace that today and see if that helps me out. Otherwise the car boosts well but like sluggish right before boost will kick in. Has full boost. Any help appreciated. I just got this car so am pretty illiterate about them hehe. Any help is appreciated.

The TPS just needs to be adjusted, not replaced. I just did this to my SVO the other day. You need a voltmeter and then probe the green wire coming out of the TPS. *Slightly* loosen the two screws that allow you to rotate the tps a few degrees and set the voltage to about .94-.98 V and then tighten the screws. Voila!
The IAC is the cylindrical piece just behind the throttle body. Clean it out with come carb cleaner. (Clean the EGR while you're in there too)
Check the FAQ here, turboford.org, and look around at turbotbird.com too. Not all the information applies but enough does to be worth your while. The BATFE should be a convenience store.
