there is a lot of info on it around
you will need
ranger 2.5 block -- with a hole for the oil return machined (other ways of doing this, but this is the best)
forged pistons (Stock pistons are not!)
new rods (the 2.5 ranger rods are CRAP, and will buckle with 200hp) -- probably want crowers ??
this gets the bottom end up to spec --
the top end is another story -- you will need a 2.3 turbo head, or have to do some work on the ranger head. The ranger head doesn't flow as well, and the chambers aren't as large -- which will raise the compression ratio. -- the ranger heads are also dual plug --
this also brings you to the problem of timing the engine -- you can't really use the DIS, as the SVO computer isn't seutp for this-- (without some work, it can be done, but isn't real easy) --- you can pulg a distrubutor in the block, but this still leaves you with a extra hole in the head (spark plugs)
this isn't everything, but covers most of the big stuff --as you can see-- this probably isn't a swap for the lighthearted.Eric C
