Has anyone here tried to install a FMIC in the lower air dam? The area I'm refereing to is in front of the radiator, between the fog lamp openings. I was taking some rough measurements and it looks as though one could fit an intercooler approx 21" x 7" x 3". What I don't know about is running the piping as there is little room on the side of the stock raditor. Any thoughts/concerns on this style set-up?

I also was looking at that area and figured if you put in a narrower radiator you would be able to fit the pipes through. I'm sure there are other ideas but i figured if you are going to get a narrower rad. you might as well just put a NPR on.Rick

Do you have any specs on the NPR intercooler? I've been searching around on the net but can't seem to find anything useful.Originally posted by svoman2300

Isuzu NPR - the 14-16ft box trucks commonly used as a local delivery vehicle.
Gator .. the Radiator is 21.5 W, 19.5 H overall. Core: 2.25 thick. The endtanks are 3" wide. The location where the cap is was modified from original (cut down at an angle and rewelded). Paul took care of that local before I picked it up from him.

There is a guy on this site from Louisiana that has a 9L that he installed in the area that you are speaking of. He has some pics of it on his website.

Re: Intercooler mounting locations
I did it with my SVO. It was pretty tight fit because of the plastic bumper. Also I have to make brackets for it to hold in place rather than resting on the bumper.Originally posted by jzleach

I used a Kenne Bell Intercooler from my Typhoon. It is almost perfect size for this location.
Now I have my car all taken apart. I will shim and make brackets for the intercooler so it fits there without much rubbing.
I think thats the best way to put an intercooler there because it is away from the radiator's heat. I never liked the idea of mounting the intercooler right in front or back of the radiator.
I don't have pictures of it, but I will when I am done.
