  • bolts on exhaust manifold

ok, ok, so i bought my car in pieces if you didnt know. i had to try to weed the correct bolts and whatnots out of buckets. well when i took my turbo off again to put on a new drain line, i lost a couple of the bolts. when i took some old ones that i was using to sears for replacements, i matched them up better with metric, which i thought was used all over these cars. but, the metric bolts seem tight, since the studs are a little rusty, i cant tell if i have the wrong nuts on. are they supposed to be metric? standard? glue?

    Manifold bolts

Those manifold bolts have a different thread engagement than anything in the universe. Best bet is to visit a local wrecking yard and liberate some off of any 2.3 that shares the same parts..

Kenny, are you talking abut the nuts that hold the turbo on the manifold studs or the bolts that hold the manifold on the head?

aw come on. give the guy a chance to agrevate ya.

Yes on all 2.3 turbo and non turbo share the same bolt type. But if I remember the e6 manifold has slightlly longer bolts than the normal exaust manifold on the NA heads. The bolt is a brinze impregnated(so i am told) to keep it from seizing (yea right).

              lots of 100

Mike I think you talked to the same company I found. They claimed to do the special pitch they wanted 100 peices min. at like 2.25 a bolt. I went the the JYD and found a couple of thunderchickens and stole the bolts that I could get to easily. I yanked the IC bracket off of my car so I didnt need the ones with the studs.

                        Hey Mikey!

100 divided by 8 = 12.5 sets (but I used the MS Windows calculator so you had better double check that!).

I'd be good for a set if you want to put a deal together. Maybe even a second set or that .5 set leftover if theres enough interest to get 100 of them.

Mike, put me down for a set also if you get a deal going! Now all we need is ten more people.

(Looks like we're hijacking the thread again, sorry.)

Sorry to confuse you, Kenny. This is for the BOLTS that hold the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head. It is not for the NUTS that hold the turbo onto the manifold.
