  • Look, I polished my wheels with a mouse!

No really, my wheels have been neglected over many miles. So bad that they have not been coming clean or are very hard to clean.
Well, I was given a "Mouse" sander for Christmas and I put it to use. It took me ten minutes but there is plenty that still needs done. I only went down to 240 grit. Plan on going to 1000-1200 this weekend.

    Here are some pictures

This was after about 2 minutes with 120 grit.

I think they look good also! I'm not familiar with a "mouse" sander. What do I go looking for over at Home Depot if I want to see what one looks like?

I think that's also known as a jitterbug.

Thanks, Pat! I believe I've got a couple of those out in the garage.

"Mouse" is from Black & Decker. It worked really nice due to its triangle shape. I was able to get right next to the lip on the wheel without the body of the sander hitting anything.

It turned out better than I had hoped. And it was easier than trying to clean them.

                    Kiwi..

That is next. I would like to find a shop that would be willing to powder coat the inserts a dark grey color and have the whole thing cleared.

Any decent powdercoating shop should be able to do what you are asking with no problem. Your next best alternative would be a wheel restoration shop. Not sure if you are willing to ship them out, but there is a wonderful shop here in Tampa who does great work for fair prices.

I dont think my brake rotors are up to daily 100 mile trips while my wheels are out. LOL

I'm sure you could find a cheap set of 94+ V6 wheels just to run around on. You'll have to drive around on something even if you have a local guy do the job.

Oh...almost forgot. They look great so far!

Obviously, you don't own enough SVO's yet or this wouldn't be a problem!
