My SVO has a cloth headliner with vinyl sunvisors. Is this correct?
I read a couple of posts back that the sun-roof cars had vinyl headliners but what about the other models, and would Ford use vinyl sun visors with a cloth headliner. The head liner in my car is not dark gray like the rest of the interior.

    Thanks

84s had some 'only found in 1984' stuff going on with them. Yes, you could find vinyl sunvisors with a cloth headliner. Your headliner should be 'medium gray' in color.

Thanks for the reply. The headliner is a medium gray.
I don't know if it matters but it is an early 84 car with the slapper bars.

yeah - 'early' 84s are usually where you see some weird varibles in parts/options used. Seems Ford used just about anything they could grab and stick on or something - to an extent. Then, later (Dec production) by the time they had made the switch to quad shocks - the production line and parts were pretty much set in stone.

Besides that - you have to keep in mind the age of the cars and what might have happened or been changed from a previous owner(s).

          vinyl vs. cloth

My early 1984 SVO (build date 11/83) has cloth headliner and non-lighted vinyl sunvisors, exactly the same on my Turbo-GT (build date 11/83).

BTW. The SVO has an aws#*+ handle, the Turbo-GT has t-tops so no handle there.

That kind of shows Buds comments to be true. Garys 84 had a cloth headliner. My early 84 came with a perforated vinyl headliner with unlit vinyl sun visors.

I have a early 84 with a sunroof that had vinyl and no grab handle. The liner was falling apart so i had a cloth installed.
