um.......my tank always reads empty so far that i know of. isnt that usually associated with ground or positive off of the tank? meaning if it was reading full all the time, it would be one or the other broke. mine reads empty, which would that be? or are there any problems typical to the gas tanks in foxes? like holes in the float, or anything? that might make this read empty.

    Sunken Fload Reads Empty

A sunken float will cause the gauge to read empty. This is a fairly common occurance on Fox Mustangs and SVO's. The solution is to replace the sending unit/float module in the tank.

When replacing a sending unit /float assembly, I always plug the new one in and run it through the range of motion to see if things work like they should, before installing it in the tank.

If other gauges are similarly inacccurate in concert, suspect the IVR!

Instrument Voltage Regulator. Very common item in Fords. There is an article somewhere in cyberspace to make a solid state IVR. I have done it to 2 cars with good success. It's cheap to do and lasts forever! If you can't find it, send me a PM, and I'll send you the write up and the photos I took while doing it.
