  • Cruising Speed Sputter Solved

Well after all sorts of trouble shooting the problem is fixed. The car would sputter and loose power at cruising speeds between 2800-3000 RPM. Replaced and checked just about everything. Decided to change the timing belt and put a adjustable cam sprocket on. Upon pulling everything apart found the cam belt tensioner pulley was damn near froze . When you try to turn it by hand you can only get about 2 turns on it. The belt didn't appear really worn. I still replaced all the Sprockets with the round tooth designed ones from Racer Walsh and replaced the Timing Belt Tensioner with one from Race Engineering (Also purchased at Racer Walsh). Racer Walsh is right here in town and were a HUGE help in fixing this. THANKS TO EDDIE over there. There adjustable cam sprocket set is awesome too. Cam is still set at 0. I am going to play with the cam timing a little before putting the new motor I have in the car. New motor is getting a Ranger cam and a ported head with large valves and a fresh Cosworth T3/T4 Turbo and a 3" Exhuast.....
Working...
