  • FMIC High idle

After putting in my FMIC, BOV, Cone filter, rewiring some of the burnt up wires (I think it's all back in the right place), and getting the car started, it started idling at just above 3K. I'm sure it could be any number of things but any suggestions on where to start looking or something obvious I'm missing when doing these upgrades?

    Thanks!
Hoping to get on the track soon

did you bump the TPS...? Is it an idle high problem or a vac leak problem..?

Nice looking install! With all that new plumbing on the intake side, I'd be suspicious of vacuum leaks as the cause of the high idle. Try bypassing the IC and the plumbing to see if it idles at normal speed. If it does, start looking for leaks.

Could very well be a vacuum leak. I had to redo a bunch of vacuum hoses, I'll check.

I'll also bypass the FMIC and see if that fixes it...that was my first thought.

Either that, or get some MAP gas ( or starter fluid ) and hold her open around the engine compartment while she is running...if the idle goes way up, make a mental note of where you were spraying it and look for leaks.
