  • rear lower control arms

    I have been lurking arround. I havent seen much on the rear lower control arms. I am about to do the suspension on my car and I for some reason have more money than patience. I am looking to replace the arm with new bushings already installed (yes I am lazy). I am looking at mac stedia and D&D for arms. all are arround the same price. I am not interested in adjustable ones (one more thing to F%^#$ with). Is there anything I should avoid or look out for. Stedia claims that they have a special bushing as to not cause damage to the torque box unlike solid bushings. I can assume that poly will work just as well.

    any help would be hot

    IMHO, look no further than maximum motorsport...




    I have also used global west arms with success in my 5.0L and a friend's 5.0L as well...

    We manufacture muscle car suspension parts, including: control arms, springs, brakes, bushings, sway bars, subframes, leaf springs, coilover.

      Ok I dug arround it seems that the spherical bushing is the way to go to not cause torque box issues. Has anyone had experiance with these type of units. The one I am contimplating used spherical on one side and multilayer poly on the axel side.

          I've used both the Global west lower rears on V8 cars and the Maximum Motorsports lower rears on my SVO.

          The Global West arms seem the control the rear axle movement better than the MM ones do, so if you want to do just an arm change, the Global West arms could be the one. The MM arms seemed to bind less, but had a small bit more lateral movement in the rear end. The MM arms are still way better than the stock arms, however...and the stock SVO arms were probably the best stock arm on Fox bodied Mustangs (except maybe the Special Service Mustangs)

            The new billet aluminum Steeda LCA's look pretty nice. They come with height adjustable spring perches and I think heim joints are optional. Forget the exact specs on the weight, but I assume they would be featherweights compared to the boxed/tubular steel units commonly available.

              I had the GW ones on for years and just replaced them with the MM as the GW have the sperical joint at the chassis and the MM has it at the axle. MUCH quieter if you care about noise. ( I ain't 20 anymore) Of course the 4:10 gears and 235/40-17 tires don't help either. I agree that either are 100 x better than stock. Also removed quad shocks and brackets. I'll sell the GW to anybody who wants them. 25K miles I guess.

                  25K miles on the arms. I didn't want to put price because that should go in parts for sale, correct? Go to corner carvers for more info than you would ever want on LCA's
