I'm not too familiar with my SVO exhaust yet. Does this exit the passenger or the driver side behind the rear axle? Looking to do something similar once I install the new turbo w/3-inch downpipe.Originally posted by Pat_in_L.A.
It will fit. I made a 3 inch over-axle tailpipe too but it doesn't show in this pic.1984 SSP Mustang (ex-FHP)

I wished my stock cat looked like yours
Mine looks like a Axillary fuel tank
No joke its like 2'L X 1'W X 6"H, that is a rough guess, but what it looks like to me lol
Anyways do you need to use mandrel bends to get the 3" over the read axle and have room to for the axle to move right ?
I was thinking of using a 3" all the way to the muffler and a 2.5" from the out put side of the muffler to the rear of the car.

The OEM cats are larger but they have a greater life span, and are only 4 inches high. I just had a bunch of mandrel "U" bends and 45* bends in the garage (readily available at all the exhaust/hot rod shops) , and started duplicating the OEM tailpipe with a minor 1/4" "squish" in the press where it goes over the axle.

If I had it all to do over again......
I have a 3" unit (ha, ha) from dowpipe to exhaust pipe, straight through muffler with no cat. After 2 years of hanging, banging and bracing, I STILL can't keep it from rattling on occasion. When I have the tank out later to swap pumps I'm going see if I can "modify" it for better clearance.
It does sound badass, though.

maybe I can shave a 1/10 off my time without that huge heavy beast lol ( thats a joke)
I guess I'm going to use a 2.5" tail pipe for now, my town don't do mandrels and I'm not sure I want to order any as to keep the cost down for now.
