Plastic cover on gas tank question...

    Plastic cover on gas tank question...

    This might be a dumb one....

    Can the plastic cover(s) on the gas tank be replaced or does the whole tank have to come off and be replaced? My ATR tailpipes burned a little of the plastic on one side(that problem has since been fixed).

    On some years it is riveted to the tank straps but on 86 it is not. You will have to drop the straps and support the tank to get it out. Not a hard job just a hr or so to do it.
