I'm just not having any luck finding the connectors in the engine compartment of my 84 to hook up a code scanner(cheap autozone purchase). I found them with no prob on a 84 v-6 convt I was helping a friend with but not mine.... Thanks for the help.
Richsvo, I did check there but no luck, thanks. The manual for the scanner points out a few locations and I did check them out. Wiring is a little unorganized under the hood. In the process of cleaning it up. Anyone else????
Joe, I own 2 84s u should find the test connector in the coil area as Rich described. Check again to make sure u did not overlook it and be on the lookout for a black plastic cover that says eec test. This cover holds both connectors and is found commonly on the later 2.3 cars but, I dont know if it was on the svo from factory although I have seen them being used on them.
Duhhh!!!! Why dont ya put a 5.0 in that car George???
I was lucky to make it home last night...trouble shot in the driveway, then the white smoke of death started billowing out. Needless to say, I was done for the night.
Can I start a thread on wives that don't understand the whole man/car relationship...
