  • My latest idea

My SVO interior is in fairly decent shape, and I'd like to keep it that way. But, being she is a daily driver I know its not going to be that way for long.

So here is what I'm thinking. I found an '86 LX parts car in Tampa. $100 yields the complete dash (pad, guages, a/c control, vents, etc.) plus the two door panels. Refinish/dye them black, find some rear quarter pieces from a latemodel foxbody in black. Basically turn the entire interior black complete with some nice Recaro/Saleen seats...and save my pristine SVO interior for the time when my SVO becomes a weekend driver.

I'm so paranoid about breaking something and not being able to find a replacement. Feel this could possibly be my next best solution. Any suggestions or comments?

And before anyone jumps down my throat...my intentions are NOT to sell my interior. Don't want to find myself on the wall of shame.

As long as you can store the stock stuff without it getting damaged in storage I don't see there being a problem but maybe other opions are different. Also how are the doors on the parts car if they look good , not rusted and available I may be interested in them.

Not sure...I didn't look too closely at the doors. My brother and I go there on Saturday for a fun day of cursing. I'll let you know how they look and perhaps snap a few pictures if the digi is working by then. So you know, they are manual windows with power door locks. The glass looked pretty decent from what I can remember.

I will store the interior in a climate controlled storage facility. Everything will be wrapped/sealed.

Storing them where they won't get damaged is the key. They might survive better on the car, rather than in the rafters, or in a closet.
I'd put a dash cover over he dash, and tint the windows to keep it from fading. Then either some seat covers, or aftermarket seats.
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!
