  • computer change out question

My 85 SVO has been stock since I bought it in 1990 execpt for small Ford Motorsport cam. I now want to increase horsepower.
I have collected an 86 SVO upper and lower intake with injectors and fuel rail. I also have the EGR tube as I believe it is different.
I bought a LA2 computer and have two questions.
Do I have to remove the stock BCS valve and use a manual boost valve and where exactly do I install my ACT sensor. I read anywhere in my 86 intake but that is too vague for me. Tried to go to my local Ford dealer and obtain a picture where the turbo coupe's installed it. HELP!

As I understand it, you will have to remove the stock 85 boost controller. You can try to find a 87 or 88 TC onein the JY or just use the manual boost controller (most common choice).

There is some debate as to whether you need to add the ACT or not. Some have, some have not. You can look on this site for more info.

Thanks for the info---I would like to take the easy way out and use the stock unit from a turbocoupe but I bet the manual unit is better.
