  • Fuel pressure guage

    Hey guys!

So, I am buying a fuel pressure guage for in the engine compartment, and I'm not sure the best place to mount the thing....

Where are you guys that are running them mounting them at? I see the Schrader Valve up by the cowl, but, that seems kinda far away to see what the regulator is throwing in the engine, right?

    Please help, I need suggestions....

    Thanks, in advance, guys!

    OI !!

Dont run the "in-car" fuel pressure gauge...they are a pain in the arse to get working right.

Just in case, get some extra copper tubing from a parts stor and dont forget the fittings !

If you want a nice gauge to see while drving, mount it on the cowl of the car.

Or get a small one that can be extended ( braided hose un-coiled ) to the winsheild while driving.

Yes, the valve on the fuel rail is where she goes.

    Hope that helped

      Gator,

It's not an "in-car" guage, it's an "in engine" one. It's made to screw right on to a Scrader Valve.

Are you saying there is another Schrader valve on the fuel rail?

If so, where? I have never noticed one.

      Thanks again, and btw...Happy Birthday!

            There is another Luke!

There is another schrader valve on the fuel line at the fire wall (at least on an 86). I've never touched or used this port, but I don't see any reason why it couldn't be used.

                Ok,

So you guys are saying that there is a Schrader on the fuel rail, and another on the firewall...correct?

I will check it out today and see.

Waiting for UPS to get here, as we speak, and then I will have the guage, and a few more goodies!

                Thanks for your help, guys!

                  Well, thanks again guys!

It was there, just like you said. I mounted in yesterday, and it works great. Kind of an incognito mounting (have to look for it) but visible from the front of the car. (under the intake/T.B.)

Thanks again, I appreciate your help!
