  • Does anyone have a tech piece for replacing all 4 brakes?

I am not upgrading, just using OEM components (rotors, pads, etc.). I want to replace anything else while I have the wheels off and some notes would be helpful.

    Thanks.

The front brakes are pretty straight forward. You mught want to replace your brake hoses with the SS braided lines as an upgrade. You will want to replace the rubber? brake bolt boots or whatever you call them.

The rear brakes can be a little more tricky. Get a Haynes or Chiltons manual and follow it. Replace the brake hoses as well.

If you are replacing both front and rear calipers, make sure you buy the ones with the steel pistons.

Ok, I got it now. Do you know if MM's braided lines will fit the front brakes on an SVO?

I can't say about the MM Stainless brake lines, but I know that Earls Hyperfirm pn 28B070ERL does.

I am getting ready to upgrade my brake hoses as well. I just got an email response from Maximum Motorsports that says the MMSSCS is not compatable with an 85.5 SVO, only back to 87 Mustangs. What gives? Is there an alternative?
I had new calipers installed so does this mean I got new ones with the new calipers, so I don't need these?
I was considering the Earl's SS hoses as well. Any thoughts on those particular hoses?

the earls aren't DOT approved -- could get you in trouble if you have state inspections, and the inspector knows what they are.

Call Paul @ SVP he has the braided lines that are DOT approved, and will work for your SVO.

But what gives with the caliper sleeves?
Do they work or don't they?

                        Tester...

are you sure that Earls Hyperfirm brake hoses are not DOT approved?

Metal caliper sleeves are available from Maximum Motorsports and yes they will work with SVO calipers...

Please do a search...this topic has been brought up many times before...
